moving out and moving on

So. I have officially given my 30-day notice at my place. I'm kinda sad about it. But I'm certain it's all for the best. While I was sitting on my living-room floor going through more bags of really old mail and junk, I had all kinds of thoughts going through my head. At one point I envisioned myself moving back home after "the year" away. It wasn't the most pleasant thought. In fact, it was a quite miserable way to picture my life, being that I require so much mental and physical stimulation throughout the day, living in a tiny town with a whole lotta nothing going on would be like death to me.

Between flying out and the occasional social engagement, I guess will be the tedious task of packing. Not something I'm looking forward to. Not at all.
In the midst of all these changes are the endless questions and growing uncertainty which usually accompany these things. I'd like my mind to just go into sleep mode for a while. That'd be really nice. Because I'm driving myself absolutely batty. Ack! And sleep? Forget about it! With the wheels in my brain endlessly churning away, it's nearly impossible to get any real rest. : (

A friend of mine has invited me to go to Germany before he returns to The States, but I'm not sure I'm up for a trip. I'd only be responsible for my travel expenses and since my job allows me to fly anywhere for peanuts, it's an offer I should really consider. It would sure be a nice distraction from the things going on in my life these days.

Everything is officially set in motion and I guess that's my cue to get on with it. And since I've strategically and purposely left myself with no choice--I guess I *will*.

Out for now.

  2. Jamie, my friend had to come back to the states a little sooner than expected, so the opportunity fell through, sadly. But I can always go another time in the future.

    Thanks so much for reading.
